Ben Hopson is a designer, artist, and educator working in Savannah, Georgia, USA. He is the creator of the discipline of Kinetic Design, which involves the aesthetic design of physical movement. Incorporating elements of industrial design, kinetic sculpture, engineering, interaction design, and puppetry, the field allows designers to animate products and spaces in new ways. As a professor of Industrial Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design, he established the first degree program in the world in the discipline of Kinetic Design. Hopson also develops original kinetic products through his company, Hopson Kinetic, and works with a diverse range of brands including Microsoft, Spin Master, Newell Brands, and LG Electronics USA.
